Clare Johnson
"Wakefulness inside the dream."
Dr. Clare R. Johnson
The sleeping mind is not a waste of life — it is a laboratory of the soul. Lucid dreaming is the deliberate cultivation of awareness inside the dream, where inner figures can be met, fears integrated, and creativity given untamed room.
Reality Checks
Cultivate the habit, in waking, of asking: 'Am I dreaming?' — and looking carefully. The waking habit becomes the sleeping reflex.
Dream Signs
Recurrent symbols are the dream's signature. Catalog them. The next time they appear, lucidity ignites.
Stabilization
Once lucid, do not lunge. Spin gently, touch surfaces, breathe — anchor your awareness so the dream does not collapse.
The Inner Council
The figures of the dream are aspects of you. Speak to them. Ask the nightmare what it wants. Receive the gift it has been carrying.
Reality-check throughout the day. Set an intention before sleep. Upon noticing a dream sign, stabilize the dream by engaging your senses — rub your hands, look at detail, breathe.
"Lucid dreaming is the art of being aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming."
"The dream is a living, intelligent process — meet it with curiosity, not control."
"Every nightmare carries a gift. The trick is to stay long enough to receive it."
